Hints and Scales: Designing with Web Type
It’s a great time to be designing for the web: we have finally been liberated from the shackles of the same small set of system fonts. Through the use of “web type,” designers are free to roam a land of expressive typography that is distinct to their content. We will discuss ways to implement beautiful typography on the web, both from a technical and an aesthetic perspective. In addition, we will examine some of the common pitfalls to avoid and strategies to address them when they arrise. You will leave with a solid understanding of the freedoms and complexities of web type that you can bring to your next project.
